Tax Manager


Overview



A growing public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Columbus-area office. This role is ideal for a public accounting professional who enjoys building client relationships, developing staff, and serving as a trusted advisor to closely held businesses, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals.

The firm is looking for a growth-minded professional with strong technical tax knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a desire to play a visible role in practice development. This position offers a path toward increased leadership responsibility while working with a diverse client base across healthcare, manufacturing, construction, and other entrepreneurial business sectors.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and review complex business and individual tax engagements.
  • Review and oversee preparation of Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and trusted advisor for business owners and individual clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional service.
  • Identify client needs and recommend additional firm services when appropriate.
  • Lead client engagements from planning through completion.
  • Supervise, mentor, train, and develop Senior and Staff Accountants.
  • Review work product and provide coaching and technical guidance to team members.
  • Participate in business development activities and relationship-building efforts.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on growth initiatives and client service strategies.
  • Stay current on tax law developments and industry trends.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on collaboration and professional growth.


Qualifications

  • Active CPA license required.
  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Experience reviewing business and individual tax returns.
  • Demonstrated success managing client relationships and engagements.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and staff development skills.
  • Proven business development or client expansion experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
