FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Principal Engineer

Job Summary: The Senior Structural Design Engineer is responsible for leading the structural design and analysis of various projects. This role involves overseeing the development of design plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical guidance to the engineering team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the structural design and analysis of buildings, bridges, and other structures.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Conduct structural calculations and simulations to ensure the integrity and safety of designs.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop effective design solutions.
  • Review and approve design plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure design implementation and quality control.
  • Participate in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural design engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and CAD software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
