Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production Technician to join our growing manufacturing team in Columbus, Ohio. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment, have strong mechanical aptitude, and take pride in producing high-quality products, this Production Technician opportunity could be the perfect fit for you.

As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, inspecting, and testing products while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. You will work alongside a collaborative team committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble products and components according to work instructions and customer specifications.
  • Perform repetitive bench and assembly line operations to meet production schedules.
  • Assemble electronic and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and jigs.
  • Drill, tap, ream, fasten, sand, clean, and shape parts as required.
  • Operate production equipment and monitor machine performance.
  • Perform inspections to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Conduct testing using calibrated equipment and accurately record results.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment, materials, and production processes.
  • Complete production documentation and data entry for safety, quality, and delivery metrics.
  • Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, 5S practices, ISO requirements, and manufacturing standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Assist with training team members when needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months to 2 years of manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read work instructions, safety procedures, and operating manuals.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Reliable attendance and a positive team-oriented attitude.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, climb, or balance.
  • Frequently use hands for assembling and handling components.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and moderate to high noise levels.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including static control devices when required.
