Security Technician

Job Description

Security Engineers Inc. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused Security Systems Technician who demonstrates initiative, communicates effectively, and provides high-quality service and support.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year of security systems technician experience or 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and working knowledge of electronics field, computer hardware/software, data networks, cabling, and AC/DC voltage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company approved driver standards.
  • Must be willing travel between the client facilities for special projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain, assemble, and program access control and VMS systems, including card readers, electronic door hardware, cameras, panic devices, gates, and intercom/phone devices.
  • Act as a representative of the client when dealing with outside contractors on security device installations and repairs.
  • Service and troubleshoot systems according to approved guidelines and standards.
  • Read and follow installation prints and diagrams.
  • Respond to trouble and occasional emergency after-hours calls.
  • Document installation and maintenance activity accurately.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and keep security information confidential.

Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without Reasonable Accommodation(Subject to change based on client-specific needs)

  • Stand for at least 1 hour without support or break
  • Sit for at least 1 hour without break
  • Walk at least ½ mile without stopping

Education & Experience:

Minimum:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Preferred:

  • Education: Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
