Description
A Technical Writer who works with product development teams and will be responsible to prepare documentation for tasks to define roles and responsibilities, development processes and know-how to facilitate an efficient flow of work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in communications or appropriate comparable discipline or 3 + years technical writing experience.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with a variety of people and job functions.
- Has proficient computer skills in word processing and usage of collaboration related tools (Confluence, Flare, Sharepoint, etc).
- Pays attention to detail and sets high personal goals or standards of performance.
- Has basic project management skills and is able to determine a project timeline.
- Has developed organizational skills to prioritize workload and accomplish tasks to define project timeline
- Can generates creative solutions to problems and is open to trying different and novel approaches.
- Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships. Works in teams to reach project goals in desired format.
Basic responsibilities include:
- Learning different aspects of the product development.
- Using learned aspects, creates process documents for performed tasks. Such as process description, work steps and inputs/outputs for given activities.
- Listening to identify tasks, who is responsible and generalizing these to an overall task list to clarify roles and responsibilities amongst groups & departments.
- Prepare training materials related to process documents to facilitate new employee learning
- Review created process documents/material with product teams, revise as needed then receive approval.
- Post and Maintain repository of process documentation
- Establish process documentation structure and guidelines
