Job description

Due to departmental growth, TRC is currently hiring Jr. and Sr. level Sensing and Perception Test Engineers.
About the Role:
We're seeking a passionate and results-oriented Sr. Sensing & Perception Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this senior role, you will assist in evaluating cutting-edge sensing and perception systems for autonomous vehicles, champion innovative testing methodologies, drive team growth, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the Testing Process:
  • Define and execute rigorous test plans and verification strategies aligned with system requirements and customer needs.
  • Drive root cause analysis of test failures and collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions.

Deliver High-Impact Results:
  • Lead end-to-end sensing and perception test campaigns, ensuring on-time delivery and meeting critical business objectives.
  • Effectively communicate test results and progress to both internal and external stakeholders.

Drive Innovation & Efficiency:
  • Develop and implement innovative testing methodologies to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity and overall test effectiveness.

Develop & Grow the Team:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Test Engineering training curriculum.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and development of the testing organization.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related STEM field (e.g., Physics, Computer Science).
  • 1- 5+ years of hands-on experience in testing and system validation, with a strong emphasis on sensing and perception for autonomous vehicles.
  • Proven expertise working with cameras, radars, and lidars, including the analysis of data generated by these sensors.
  • Experience managing and leading engineering teams is highly preferred.
  • Strong foundation in system engineering principles, including requirements definition and formal verification & validation methods.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Python (preferred) or other programming languages (C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink).
