Human Resources Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Human Resources Manager to support and execute across all core HR functions. This role is ideal for a well-rounded HR professional who is comfortable balancing day-to-day HR operations with employee relations, compliance, and recruiting.

An established HR foundation is already in place, including policies, processes, and core programs. The HR Manager will take ownership of executing these programs, ensuring consistency and compliance, and identifying opportunities for improvement over time.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management
  • Guide managers on disciplinary actions, documentation, and employee management practices
  • Promote a fair, consistent, and respectful workplace culture

Benefits Administration & Open Enrollment

  • Administer health and welfare benefits, including enrollments, changes, and vendor coordination
  • Own execution of annual open enrollment within an established framework, including timeline management, employee communications, and issue resolution
  • Partner with brokers and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth and effective enrollment process
  • Support ongoing improvements to benefits processes and employee experience

Talent Acquisition

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting across multiple roles and locations
  • Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs and candidate profiles
  • Manage candidate experience, offer process, and onboarding coordination


Compliance & HR Operations

  • Execute compliance programs, including maintaining compliance calendars, policies, and required reporting
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and accurate employee records
  • Support reporting and audit requirements (e.g., EEO-1, benefits reporting)
  • Contribute to ongoing refinement of HR policies and processes

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple functional areas
  • Strong background in employee relations and workplace investigations
  • Experience administering benefits and supporting open enrollment
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and operate independently

Preferred

  • Experience in a unionized environment, including grievance handling and CBA interpretation
  • Experience in commercial construction or similar field-based workforce
  • Multi-state HR experience
  • Experience leading or supporting HRIS implementation
