CONTENT CREATOR & SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

Location: Columbus, OH - On-Site

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a creative, energetic, and highly motivated Content Creator & Social Media Specialist to join our Marketing team at our corporate headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. This individual will be responsible for developing engaging, high-quality content that strengthens brand awareness, increases audience engagement, supports recruiting initiatives, and drives the company's overall social media presence.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who understands how to create compelling content across multiple digital and social platforms. This role requires a combination of creativity, strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and an understanding of current social media trends and best practices.

The Content Creator & Social Media Specialist will work collaboratively with Marketing, Recruiting, Sales, Operations, and company leadership to develop content that effectively communicates the Surge Staffing brand, culture, services, employment opportunities, and community involvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCONTENT CREATION & BRAND STORYTELLING
  • Develop creative, engaging, and original content that aligns with the company's brand identity, marketing strategy, and business objectives.
  • Create written, visual, and video content for social media platforms, digital marketing campaigns, recruiting initiatives, internal communications, and company events.
  • Produce short-form video content, employee spotlights, recruiting campaigns, branch highlights, client success stories, community involvement features, and other brand-focused content.
  • Write compelling captions, social media copy, campaign messaging, and other marketing content.
  • Capture and edit photography and video content for use across digital platforms.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all content.
  • Identify opportunities to creatively showcase company culture, employees, services, clients, candidates, and community partnerships.
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
  • Manage and support the company's presence across social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other emerging platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media content calendar.
  • Schedule, publish, and monitor social media content across multiple platforms.
  • Create platform-specific content designed to maximize engagement and audience growth.
  • Monitor social media trends, emerging platforms, algorithm changes, and industry best practices.
  • Engage with followers, comments, messages, and online communities in a professional and timely manner.
  • Identify creative opportunities to increase brand awareness, engagement, followers, and overall digital presence.
  • Support social media campaigns designed to attract job seekers, clients, and prospective employees.
VIDEO & DIGITAL CONTENT PRODUCTION
  • Plan, film, edit, and produce short-form and long-form video content.
  • Create engaging video concepts for recruiting, employer branding, company culture, employee recognition, and marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate video shoots at corporate headquarters, branch locations, company events, and other locations as needed.
  • Edit video content for use across multiple digital and social media platforms.
  • Stay current on video trends, storytelling techniques, and content formats that drive audience engagement.
SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY & CAMPAIGN SUPPORT
  • Partner with Marketing leadership to develop and execute social media strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Assist in developing campaigns focused on brand awareness, recruiting, employee engagement, client acquisition, and community involvement.
  • Research competitors, industry trends, and target audiences to identify new content opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and branch locations to gather stories, photos, videos, and content ideas.
  • Support paid and organic social media campaigns as needed.
  • Help identify influencers, partnerships, community organizations, and other opportunities to expand brand visibility.
ANALYTICS & PERFORMANCE REPORTING
  • Track, analyze, and report social media and content performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including engagement, reach, impressions, follower growth, website traffic, video views, and conversions.
  • Use data and analytics to identify successful content strategies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations to increase audience engagement and improve campaign performance.
  • Assist in preparing regular social media and digital marketing performance reports.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Social Media, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, or a related field required.
  • Previous experience in content creation, social media management, digital marketing, advertising, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience creating content for major social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Experience with photography, videography, and video editing strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing social media campaigns and content calendars preferred.
  • A portfolio or examples of previous social media, video, photography, or digital content work is strongly preferred
