Job description

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Tester with strong functional testing knowledge in SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), SAP Materials Management (MM), and enterprise integration scenarios involving MuleSoft APIs/interfaces. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end test planning, test scenario identification, test case preparation, test execution, defect management, regression testing, integration validation, and business user support across SAP and connected systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, integration designs, and process flows for SAP PM, SAP MM, and MuleSoft-connected interfaces.
  • Prepare and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, test data, test execution evidence, traceability matrices, and testing status reports.
  • Execute functional testing, system integration testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing, smoke testing, sanity testing, and production validation activities.
  • Validate SAP PM processes such as technical objects, functional locations, equipment, maintenance notifications, maintenance orders, work order processing, confirmations, settlement, and related master data.
  • Validate SAP MM processes such as purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, goods issue, inventory movement, material master, vendor master, stock checks, and PM-MM integration touchpoints.
  • Perform integration testing between SAP, MuleSoft APIs, middleware services, external applications, reporting systems, and downstream/upstream enterprise systems.
  • Review MuleSoft integration payloads, API responses, error messages, data mappings, transformation rules, and interface logs in coordination with MuleSoft developers and technical teams.
  • Identify, log, prioritize, track, retest, and close defects using tools such as Jira, qTest, ALM, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or equivalent defect management platforms.
  • Coordinate with SAP functional consultants, MuleSoft developers, business SMEs, product owners, QA leads, and project managers to clarify requirements and resolve testing blockers.
  • Support UAT preparation, business user coordination, test execution support, defect triage calls, release readiness reviews, and go-live validation activities.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, test design reviews, defect triage meetings, daily stand-ups, release meetings, and retrospective discussions.
  • Ensure quality compliance by following defined QA processes, maintaining reusable test assets, and providing accurate test progress reporting to stakeholders.

Required Skills:
  • Hands-on experience in SAP functional testing, especially in SAP PM and SAP MM business processes.
  • Strong understanding of SAP PM and MM integration points, including maintenance order material consumption, procurement of services/materials, reservations, inventory movements, and goods issue/receipt impacts.
  • Experience in testing SAP integrations with middleware/API platforms, preferably MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Ability to validate interface flows, payload mapping, API responses, error handling, retries, and exception scenarios with support from integration teams.
  • Strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC, defect lifecycle, Agile testing practices, test planning, test execution, and test reporting.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, qTest, ALM, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow.
  • Ability to create clear test scenarios from functional requirements, user stories, configuration documents, and design specifications.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel for test evidence, reporting, traceability, and reconciliation activities.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify requirement gaps, integration issues, data mismatches, and process defects.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with business, functional, technical, and integration teams.
  • Proficiency with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA, SAP GUI, SAP Fiori, and relevant SAP PM/MM transactions and apps.
  • Familiarity with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or equivalent integration monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar API testing utilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams for documentation, reporting, and collaboration.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills across business, QA, SAP, and integration teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong ownership of test quality, test evidence, and defect closure.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced release environment.
  • Good documentation discipline and ability to create clear, reusable test assets.
  • Ability to work across time zones and support planned release or weekend testing windows when required.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in SAP PM/MM processes in implementation, upgrade, transformation, support, or enhancement projects.
  • Experience on integration-heavy programs involving SAP, MuleSoft, external systems, and API/interface validation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and proactively identify gaps in requirements, test data, and interface behavior.
  • Understanding of enterprise release management, change control, test governance, and production validation practices.

Preferred Skills:
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori applications, SAP EAM, Work and Asset Management transformation programs, or utility industry processes.
  • Basic understanding of MuleSoft Anypoint Monitoring, Runtime Manager, API Manager, queues, connectors, and integration logs.
  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, data validation, reconciliation, flat files, XML, JSON, IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, or web services.
  • Experience in automation testing support using tools such as Selenium, UFT, Tosca, Worksoft, or equivalent.
  • ISTQB, SAP, Agile/Scrum, or MuleSoft fundamentals certification.
