Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for an ER Holding / Emergency Department Observation Unit assignment in Columbus, Ohio.
This role supports pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients requiring short-term observation, monitoring, and treatment following emergency department evaluation in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This opportunity is ideal for nurses with strong ER backgrounds and experience in telemetry, stepdown-level care, and rapid patient turnover environments. The role requires strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 (1900-0730)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Patient Population: Pediatrics through Geriatrics
• Charting: Epic
• Weekend requirements per unit needs
COMPENSATION
• Weekly Gross: $2,646
• Pay package includes taxable hourly wages and tax-free stipends when applicable
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• ER Holding / Observation patient care
• Telemetry and dysrhythmia monitoring
• PCU/Stepdown-level care
• IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration
• Cardiac, insulin, heparin, and vasoactive drip management (including titration)
• Respiratory support including CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, and oxygen therapy
• Participation in rapid response and code teams
• Documentation using Epic

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years Registered Nurse experience REQUIRED
• ER experience REQUIRED (must be clearly documented)
• ER Observation/Holding, MS/Tele, Telemetry, PCU, or Stepdown experience REQUIRED
• Experience managing 1:4 patient ratios REQUIRED
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS REQUIRED
• Telemetry and dysrhythmia management REQUIRED
• Epic experience REQUIRED
• Active Compact or Ohio RN license REQUIRED at submission
• Ability to work night shift REQUIRED
