Exam Detail: Bring a valid Photo ID Check In Date/Time: July 30th @ 6:00 pm Location: Reynoldsburg Police Dept, 7240 E Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio Allow up to one (1) hour for the test The exam is general knowledge. Post Exam: The top candidates will be invited back the following week to take a brief typing and 10-key test
Details regarding scheduling and time slots will be discussed. Under the direction of the Billing Supervisor, the main functions of the Account Clerk 2 include processing water payments, providing customer service and the ability to utilization of the Departments software, equipment and other resources to manage the day-to-day operations of the Department in an efficient and effect manor. Examples of Duties Primary duty is providing customer service (directly and indirectly) Processing customer payments, and inquiries at the counter Operates remote check scanner Provides feedback to customers in person, over the phone and/or through email Performs a variety of general accounting functions Calculates/prints utility bills as needed for customers Checks consumption reports and contacts customer if necessary to obtain reason for high, or unusual consumption Sets up standard payment plans for customers Enters and tracks work orders for field crew (Equipment Operators) Assist Supervisor with directing field crews as needed Helps prepare shut-off lists Creates transfer, disconnect, and change of address orders Performs a variety of clerical tasks Remains informed of current guidelines and procedures pertinent to duties Participates in staff meetings, and participates in departmental activities Attends training (professional development) as needed Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards that pertain to essential functions Cross trains other employees as needed Performs other related duties as assigned Typical Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED or equivalent Eighteen (18) months' experience or training in general accounting/bookkeeping, financial recordkeeping Eighteen (18) months' experience or training with modern office equipment (e.g., computer); Microsoft Office Proficient with typing/data entry and a 10-key calculator Supplemental Information Knowledge of (*Indicates developed after employment): Considerable knowledge of basic bookkeeping/accounting practices and principles Departmental policies and procedures * Office practices and procedures Office machines Public relations Community resources and services English grammar and spelling Records management Modern office practices Skill in: Typing Data entry Spreadsheets Proficient in most Microsoft and Adobe products Computers/Handheld devices (personal computer, laptop, tablet, etc.) Must be proficient with a 10-key calculator Use of modern office equipment (e.g., check scanner, receipt validator) Ability to: To work and handle many interruptions Provide excellent customer service Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, picture, or schedule form Calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages Copy material accurately and recognize grammatical and spelling errors Prepare routine correspondence; prepare accurate documentation Respond to routine inquiries from public and/or officials Communicate effectively Code items from one symbolic form to another Maintain records according to established procedures Cooperate with co-workers on group projects Answer routine telephone inquiries Handle sensitive inquiries from City officials and the general public Work alone on most tasks Develop and maintain effective working relationships Resolve complaints Proofread names and numbers Working Conditions: Sedentary: lift, push, pull 10 pounds occasionally Has contact with potentially emotionally distraught persons
