Job description

Ciena Deployment EngineerIntroduction:

As a Ciena Deployment Engineer, you will work in AWS Red Zones on Metro 6500 Deployments. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful deployment and commissioning of Ciena equipment, with a focus on OLS (Optical Line Systems).

Responsibilities:
  • Strong knowledge of OLS (Optical Line Systems)
  • Ability to read and understand Signal Flow Drawings
  • Troubleshoot optical issues such as loss, ORL/Reflection/power deviations, miss fibering
  • Proper fiber cleaning/scoping
  • Utilize Optical power meters, VFL for troubleshooting
  • Use OTDR and understand OTDR outputs
  • Work with AWS Automation/Workflows
  • Ciena 6500 commissioning and turn up experience preferred
Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of Ciena equipment
  • Experience with commissioning and turn up of Ciena 6500
  • Ability to troubleshoot optical issues
  • Experience with OTDR and understanding of OTDR outputs
  • Strong aptitude to learn and adapt to new platforms
