Job description

Job Purpose:
- The Grants Director manages grants personnel and departmental operations while exercising independent judgment in establishing priorities, recommending funding strategies, and implementing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute grant funding strategies to support the organization's mission and objectives.
- Identify new funding opportunities and cultivate relationships with potential funders.
- Strengthen existing funder relationships to ensure continued support and collaboration.
- Direct the overall performance of the Grants Office, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Manage grants personnel, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
- Utilize database management systems or comparable electronic grants management systems to track and manage grant activities.
- Implement process improvements to optimize grant management and reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to align grant strategies with organizational goals and initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to promote the agency's mission and funding needs.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in grants management and philanthropy.

Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
Required Experience:
- Minimum of seven years’ work experience in philanthropy or in the nonprofit sector in a grant writing capacity
- Demonstrated experience in database management systems or comparable electronic grants management systems
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of computer applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including chart preparation
- Effective Internet search skills
- Ability to learn new programs and software
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate LIFECARE ALLIANCE’s mission
- Familiarity with community health and/or gerontology
