Job description

Marketing & Communications Specialist
Reports to:
VP of Communications

Who You Are:
You're a problem solver and a do-er. You like knowing what your projects are and figuring out the best way to get them done. You want a position where you'll spend time across the communications spectrum-working on marketing and advertising projects, supporting public relations initiatives, and assisting with internal communications & training. You get bored easily and want a job in which no week will ever be the same as the week before.
What You'll Do:
  • The marketing & communications specialist is a new position created to support corporate communications and property marketing. You'll have a combination of ongoing tasks and new projects & initiatives.
  • You'll assist the marketing department in creating and editing videos, creating new graphic templates, assisting in running Google & Meta ads, building automations, and other tasks to help support corporate communications and to ensure that community occupancy remains high.
  • You'll assist the PR Department planning and managing company events such as groundbreakings and grand openings, help plan and write social media and mass email campaigns, update the company website, and captain online reputation management.
  • You'll assist the VP of Communications on projects ranging from beta tests of new marketing channels to AI & automation projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Support regional marketing leads.
  • Place digital ads on relevant platforms, including Google AdSense, Meta for Business, TikTok for Business, etc.
  • Create marketing collateral including banner ads, copy, physical print material, etc., utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva.
  • Writing and proofreading.
  • Edit video using Adobe Premiere Pro or Canva.
  • Lead projects as assigned.
  • Assist with social media & mass email strategy.
  • Identify digital trends and insights to optimize spend and outcomes.
  • Assist in management of company and property SEO.
  • Assist in online reputation management (currently Birdeye platform).
  • Edit photos or videos as directed.
  • Complete assigned training to increase skillset.
  • Update company website (currently WordPress).
  • Support company events.
  • Crosstrain with PR team.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Occasionally, this job requires travel to remote properties, assisting at company events that require physical exertion. Nights or weekends may occasionally be required with notice.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position will occasionally require lifting of 40lbs, and traveling to indoor or outdoor event locations, including construction sites.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Hours per week 40.
Travel:
Travel, alone or in small groups, may be as frequent as several times per month.
Required Education and Experience
  • 4-year degree in digital marketing-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience utilizing PPC or engagement campaigns on the largest ad networks (Google, Bing/LinkedIn, Meta, etc.).
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of SEO.
  • Working knowledge of email marketing.
  • Experience in design (Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva).
  • Writing for public audiences (social media, mass emails, and/or press releases).

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience in real estate industry.
  • Basic understanding or experience with LLM's like ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, etc.
  • Basic familiarity with generative AI.
  • Experience in mass/batch generation of documents, graphics, or video.
  • PowerQuery/PowerBi experience.
  • Geofencing experience.
  • CMS experience, especially WordPress.
  • Customer service or event production experience.
  • Comfort with occasional public speaking.
