Job Summary

Part of a larger team delivering high quality technology solutions to the business. Design, develop and installs advanced software solutions. Build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices. Design, modify, develop, write, implement and troubleshoot software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework based team. Collaborates heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst and Infrastructure Job Families.

What you'll do:

Essential Job Functions & Tasks

  • Design, develop, enhance, and support applications on the Smallworld GIS platform

  • Develop and maintain solutions using Magik and Smallworld application development tools

  • Work with Smallworld Electric Office and Smallworld PNI to support business and technical needs

  • Perform database administration and support activities related to VMDS (Version Managed Data Store)

  • Support Smallworld system administration tasks as needed

  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues within a large, mature codebase

  • Work with Smallworld GSS (GeoSpatial Server) and FME tools when applicable

  • Contribute to system stability, performance, and ongoing enhancements

  • Good Communication skills - will need to work with the business to be able to ask questions and understand business requirements.

Additional Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working in Smallworld Electric Office

  • Experience working in Smallworld PNI

  • Experience with Smallworld GSS (GeoSpatial Server) and FME tools is a plus
