Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for leading the electrical engineering scope of the Power Uprate projects. Ensures high-quality design, modification, and testing of electrical systems while maintaining compliance with NRC requirements, NERC reliability standards, and Vistra governance. Coordinates with EPC partners, OEMs, and site engineering to deliver reliable, constructible, and safe electrical solutions that integrate seamlessly into plant infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the electrical scope for EPU projects, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.
  • Direct and review electrical system designs, ensuring compliance with IEEE, NRC, NERC, and fleet standards.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and site engineering to ensure compatibility and constructability of electrical modifications.
  • Support Owner's Engineer and independent reviews to validate design quality, operability, and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership for resolving electrical issues to maintain project and outage milestones.
  • Ensure electrical designs support long-term operability, maintainability, and integration into the fleet's systems.
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required (Electrical disciple preferred).
  • 10+ years of nuclear engineering experience, with 5+ years in electrical systems design, modification, or major projects.
  • Direct experience with Extended Power Uprates, electrical upgrades, switchyard/grid integration, or equivalent $1B+ projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NRC, INPO, IEEE, NERC, and ANSI codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead electrical engineering teams and coordinate with EPCs, OEMs, and site operations.
  • Experience supporting regulatory submittals and addressing NRC/INPO or NERC compliance questions preferred.

  • Compliance with NRC, INPO, IEEE, and NERC standards.
  • Minimal corrective actions from audits and reviews.
  • Strong coordination with EPCs, OEMs, and site engineering.
  • Reliable integration of electrical systems into plant operations.
  • Successful completion of independent reviews with minimal corrective actions.
  • Effective coordination between Project Leadership site engineering, Owner's Engineer, and third parties.
