What does a successful Cybersecurity Network Governance (CNG) Engineer do?
You will work with a dedicated Cyber Network Security team ensuring firewall configurations and network communications meet or exceed external regulation and internal policies/Standards. You will perform several functions from network communication risk analysis to compliance assurance for various external regulatory reporting requirements. Furthermore, you will be involved in evaluating current network communications are secured both internally and between the client's external customers.
What you will do:
  • Working as a member of this team, your job will be to review pre-change firewall requests ensuring the requested updates adhere to policies and standards
  • You will also perform audits on existing firewall policies post change ensuring what was requested has been staged
  • Identify potential risk submitting findings for other Cyber-security groups to track remediation with application owners
  • Maximizing workflow, accessibility, and document sharing via customized solutions using SharePoint
  • Design, create, and maintain flows, actions, and triggers

What you will need to have:
  • (Must Have) 5+ years of proven experience in managing and administering firewalls within large enterprise environments, coupled with a solid understanding of network security principles, protocols, and standards.
  • (Must Have) 5+ years of proven in-depth knowledge of firewall technologies (such Palo Alto, etc.), experience with rule configuration, and audit.
  • Familiarity with governance frameworks and standards (such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex network configurations and security requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or vendor-specific certifications) are highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.
