Connectivity Engineer (ISP) – Hyperscale Data CenterLocation

New Albany, OH

Schedule
  • Night Shift
  • Wednesday through Sunday
  • 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  • 100% onsite
  • No remote or hybrid work available

Position Summary

We are seeking a Connectivity Engineer (ISP) to support the acceptance, readiness, commissioning, and turnover of fiber infrastructure within a hyperscale data center environment.

This role serves as the technical authority for fiber validation, infrastructure readiness, quality assurance, and operational handoff. The ideal candidate combines hands-on fiber experience with strong troubleshooting capabilities, acceptance testing expertise, QA/QC ownership, and contractor management experience.

Successful candidates will have experience interpreting OTDR results, reviewing fiber certification packages, validating structured cabling installations, identifying deficiencies, conducting readiness reviews, and supporting infrastructure turnover into production operations.


Key ResponsibilitiesFiber Acceptance & Testing
  • Review and interpret OTDR traces and fiber certification results.
  • Validate insertion loss and fiber acceptance criteria.
  • Review Fluke, EXFO, Viavi, and OLTS test reports.
  • Validate MPO/MTP and single-mode fiber installations.
  • Support troubleshooting of failed fiber paths and connectivity issues.
  • Verify fiber infrastructure meets design and operational requirements.
Readiness & Turnover
  • Participate in network readiness reviews.
  • Validate infrastructure before operational turnover.
  • Review punch-list completion status.
  • Verify acceptance criteria are met prior to signoff.
  • Support go-live and operational handoff activities.
  • Communicate readiness risks and deficiencies to stakeholders.
QA/QC & Auditing
  • Perform physical audits of installed infrastructure.
  • Validate cable routing, labeling, pathway utilization, and workmanship.
  • Review installations against approved drawings, standards, and design packages.
  • Establish and validate First-of-Kind (FOK) benchmark installations.
  • Create and manage deficiency logs and corrective actions.
Connectivity Infrastructure
  • Validate ISP and OSP fiber infrastructure.
  • Verify structured cabling installations.
  • Review port maps, splice records, rack elevations, cable schedules, and as-built documentation.
  • Support MMR, MDF, IDF, and network room readiness activities.
  • Troubleshoot Layer 1 connectivity issues.
Contractor & Vendor Management
  • Review contractor test reports and closeout documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with installation and acceptance standards.
  • Escalate quality, schedule, and readiness concerns when appropriate.
  • Hold vendors accountable for corrective actions and quality expectations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
