Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Purchasing Coordinator in Columbus, OH. We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to support procurement and supply chain operations on a contract basis in Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, experience coordinating vendor relationships, and a solid understanding of purchasing processes within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role requires the ability to manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure materials and services are procured accurately and on schedule.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $28 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Create, process, and track purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to confirm order details, pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on outstanding deliveries, discrepancies, or backorders.
  • Maintain and update purchasing records, vendor databases, and documentation in relevant procurement systems.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, and facilities teams to align purchasing activities with project and operational needs.
  • Review invoices against purchase orders to verify accuracy and resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with accounts payable.
  • Support the sourcing and evaluation of new vendors, obtaining competitive quotes and assisting in vendor selection processes.
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, approval workflows, and budgetary guidelines.
  • Generate and distribute purchasing reports and status updates to department leadership as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain coordination role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for tracking orders, managing data, and generating reports.
  • Experience working within an ERP or procurement management system to process and track purchase orders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple open orders and competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve procurement discrepancies with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable processes and invoice reconciliation preferred.
  • Experience in a corporate or multi-unit retail, restaurant, or hospitality environment is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light lifting may be required occasionally.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay rate for this position is $28 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
