Job description

Inventory Control Specialist 2
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Location: Columbus, OH

Position Summary

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist 2 to coordinate, analyze, and maintain inventory operations across multiple locations. This position will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, distributing, auditing, and maintaining materials, supplies, and equipment while ensuring inventory records and procedures remain accurate and compliant.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • On-site position

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, analyze, and control statewide inventory systems.
  • Receive, inspect, distribute, and maintain inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Prepare annual inventory reports for the Auditor of State.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Conduct random physical audits of designated inventory locations.
  • Compare physical inventory with system records and identify discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory documentation and records.
  • Monitor inventory processes to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Attend district meetings and provide guidance regarding inventory control procedures.
  • Communicate inventory requirements and procedures to staff and district personnel.
  • Identify inventory issues and assist with developing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Use electronic data processing systems to maintain and analyze inventory information.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 months of training or experience in inventory control.
  • Three courses or 9 months of experience in electronic data processing related to inventory control.
  • One course or 3 months of experience in public relations.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping abilities.
  • Ability to perform physical inventory audits accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with district personnel.
