Job description

Thank you for your interest in PPC Flex's job posting on Indeed for a Printing Press Operator. We are looking for a printing press operator with Flexographic or Off-set printing experience. Here are some more details about the job opportunity with PPC Flex:

** Full Time Opening

** 3rd Shift (Sun.-Thurs., 10:45p to 7a). Initial training may be on 1st shift

** $24 to $28/hr. based on experience as Printing Press Operator in a Industrial/Manufacturing setting.

** Performance Based Raises and Bonuses after 1st 90 days

** Full Benefits offered after 45 days, includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and 401K

** DESIRED SKILLS: Prior Printing experience in Off-Set or Flexographic printing is PREFERRED. Good attendance is a must, computer proficiency, attention to detail, basic math and measuring skills.


Summary: Set-up and run production jobs on flexographic printing press.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following- other duties may be assigned as management see fit.

Ensures all materials needed for production jobs are at the Press before the "Make Ready" begins.

Cleans printing decks and washes previous job.

Removes and installs print cylinders.

Set and maintains proper ink levels and viscosity.

Sets print decks for proper impression and registration.

Checks all aspects of production job before getting supervisor approval to run.

Removes wash up ink/solvent mixture from Press and pours into satellite hazardous waste drum located at Press side with correct labeling information in accordance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations. When full, places a gasket, bung and ring securely to close drum properly and moves the drum into the 90 day storage area for pumping into the tote.

Job Qualifications: To perform the duties of a Press Operator, an individual must be able to take direction from supervisor, keep a neat and clean work area and perform tasks in a timely manner.

Education: High Scholl diploma or equivalent.

General Skills: Proficiency in following oral and written instructions, ability to read and understand schedule board and production orders to determine order of jobs and necessary materials for production jobs. Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32".

Physical Demands: Ability to lift and/or move 75 lbs. The employee is regularly required to move 55-gallon drums with the assistance of a two-wheeled dolly. Vision requirements include color and peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus in web inspection systems.

Work Environment: in performing this job, the employee should expect to encounter: moving forklifts, mechanical parts, cleaning chemicals, fumes and low and high noise levels.

Standard Safety Equipment: Wearing eye protection, safety shoes must be worn in the production facility. Hairnets, Beard nets and Earplugs are required in the Press department on the production floor.
