Job description

Senior Metrology Technician – Robotic Automation

Full-Time | On-Site | Field Service (60–70% Travel)

We're seeking an experienced Senior Metrology Technician to support the installation, calibration, and validation of advanced robotic automation systems at customer sites across North America. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, solving technical challenges, and working with cutting-edge robotics and metrology equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and align robotic workcells, rails, positioners, and robot arms using FARO laser trackers.
  • Perform robot calibration using RoboDK and Yaskawa teach pendants.
  • Use PolyWorks to verify dimensional accuracy and ensure systems meet engineering tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot metrology equipment, software, and robotic systems in the field.
  • Complete calibration documentation and support customer system commissioning.
  • Travel approximately 60–70% for installations and service projects.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial metrology experience with FARO laser trackers.
  • Advanced experience with PolyWorks.
  • Experience with RoboDK and Yaskawa/Motoman robots preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, dimensional inspection, and precision alignment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in industrial automation, robotic welding, or manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Python, FARO certification, or related industry certifications are a plus.
