CTL Engineering is hiring a Civil/Site Design Project Engineer – 0-4 years’ experience!

We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.

We are looking for a Civil/Site Design Project Engineer who will play a key role in the design, planning, and implementation of site civil design/development projects for our clients. You’ll leverage your expertise in site design and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies. From initial concept development to final plan submittal, this role will be involved with projects through every stage of the design process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

  • This position will use experience while learning new skills to assist clients through our cross-functional team dynamic and company culture.
  • You will be involved in all project aspects including design/study development and site/field visits during design and construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of Civil/Site Development Design projects:
    • Work with the Project Managers to develop data, complete technical analysis, and prepare permitting and construction drawings, specifications, and quality control plans.
    • Develop Concept, Layout, Preliminary and Final Engineering Plans.
    • Develop erosion and sediment control plans.
    • Design utility and utility relocation plans.
    • Assist with creating permit applications.
  • Complete site layout, utility and grading plans, storm water analyses and reports, and site development permits.
  • Perform civil engineering analyses and numerical analysis using various computer software programs.
    • Determine hydrology, develop hydraulic/drainage and stormwater calculations, SWPPPs and obtain NDPES permits.
  • Participate in hands-on field observation & inspection of construction activities.
  • Communicate with clients on deliverables.
  • Assist with developing project proposals and Engineer’s construction cost estimates.
  • Assist with developing/managing schedules, budgets, and quality of work.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and reporting.
  • Proficient in using Auto CAD Civil 3D in various Civil/Site Design projects.
  • Must have good customer service skills, a high level of professionalism, and comfortable with client interaction.
  • Must have ability to manage multiple projects and remain quality-focused.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to be reliable and on time.
  • Be quality-minded and client-focused.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Internship/coursework experience in Civil/Site Design is a strong plus.
  • EIT/EI is preferred
  • Must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
