Job Description:

The Nursing Assistant assists in the treatment and care of the patient under the direction of a Staff RN.

  • Provides personal care that includes bathing, feeding, skin and mouth care and changing bed lines.
  • Collects, documents, and reports vital signs such as: temperature, blood pressure, pulse, height and weight.
  • Empties patient drainage containers and maintains accurate intake and output records.
  • Assists with pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care which includes, positioning, lifting and turning.
  • Reports changes observed in condition or behavior of patient.
  • Assists with treatment procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining supplies and reports malfunctioning equipment.
  • Remains compliant with HIPAA, maintains professionalism and ensures confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred. STNA preferred.
  • CPR/When Seconds Count/HOPE within the first six months of employment.
  • Nursing assistant experience preferred.

Must be able to physically exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Position may require frequent patient handling activity.
