Job description

Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is seeking a reliable and safety-minded Part-Time CDL Driver (Class A or B) to execute essential food pickups and deliveries. In this role, you will safely operate commercial vehicles, manage store and distribution pickups, and deliver agency orders across our service area while maintaining USDOT compliance and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pickups & Deliveries: Drive commercial trucks to perform donation pickups from retail partners, warehouses, manufacturers, and special community food drives.

  • Distribution: Safely deliver orders, produce, and government food programs to partner agencies throughout our 20-county service area.

  • Loading & Unloading: Safely operate material handling equipment-including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and manual jacks-to load and unload cargo at MOFC facilities and pickup/delivery sites.

  • Compliance & Safety: Conduct thorough USDOT pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, complete required documentation, and maintain clean, accurate driving records.

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Keep assigned vehicles clean, perform basic upkeep checks, and transport vehicles to/from repair facilities as scheduled.

  • Team Collaboration: Assist with special projects and events as requested by the Transportation Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • License & Certification: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a valid USDOT Medical Card required.

  • Age & Experience: Must be at least 21 years old with a minimum of 1 year of recent, verifiable commercial driving experience.

  • Clean Driving Record: No more than two moving violations and zero DOT-defined accidents within the last three (3) years in any vehicle.

  • Equipment Experience: Required experience operating propane/electric forklifts and electric pallet jacks/riders.

  • Freight Experience: Experience handling food products and refrigerated freight is highly preferred.

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Physical Effort: Ability to perform moderate-to-heavy physical labor, regularly lifting up to 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs. Ability to push/pull up to 300 lbs. using manual equipment.

  • Work Conditions: Work involves warehouse environments, commercial truck operation, and working in sub-freezing temperatures (coolers/freezers) for extended periods.

  • Safety Sensitive: This position interacts regularly with heavy machinery and transportation equipment.
