Description
Steelcrest Precision (formally Wauseon Machine) is looking for skilled professionals that are interested in working 20-30 hours a week. You don't need a set weekly schedule - just experience, expertise, and a passion for Toolmaking. Are you a skilled Toolmaker with 20+ years of experience in the field, passionate about your work, enjoy the processes, but don't want to work overtime? Come apply today!
Core Responsibilities:
  • Program and machine parts according to blueprints, drawings, and/or layouts.
  • Setup, operate, and disassemble lathes, mills, and/or grind machines.
  • Verify dimensions, size, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces.
  • Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
  • Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind parts to specifications.
  • Complete required purchase requisitions, inspection sheets, and production sheets.
  • Clean and deburr parts, work area, and machine tools.
  • Identify questions or concerns for customers.
  • Complete high-quality work, on time, and with minimal scrap and rework. (Complete 5 Whys when appropriate)

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years CNC machining experience; additional education or certification preferred.
  • Experience running CNC mills and/or lathes (Mazak, UMC, Haas, horizontal CNC, and manual lathes/mills).
  • GD&T understanding and experience.
  • Experience with setup and programming.
  • Experience reading, writing, and editing G-Code.
  • Ability to perform quality checks.
  • Knowledge and use of specialty tooling.
  • Strong math abilities (decimals, fractions, etc.) and ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints.
