Overview

SSOE is seeking mid-to-senior level Electrical Designers with strong Revit experience for our Industrial Facilities team. This position is ideal for a mid-to-senior level electrical design professional who combine strong technical expertise with advanced Revit capabilities and a collaborative approach to project delivery. You will develop and coordinate detailed electrical designs, create and manage Revit models, and work closely with engineers, designers, and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions for some of the world's leading industrial clients. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of electrical systems design, experience working within industrial facilities sector, and demonstrated proficiency using Revit as a primary design and coordination tool.

Hybrid Working

This role will be hybrid with regular commuting to our Toledo, Ohio office

Key Responsibilities
  • May serve as lead designer on assigned projects.
  • Develop and coordinate designs using Revit and other design tools.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams.
  • Provide direction to design staff and CAD/Revit support personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and design coordination.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable standards and project requirements.
  • Applies standard design techniques and procedures exercising judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to design concepts.
  • Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and assistance in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
  • Coordinates and directs the work effort of designers on the same project with some responsibility for checking portions of the completed drawings.
  • Prepares addendums and bulletins. Initiates project change orders for submittal to the project manager.
  • Attends construction meetings and produces site observation reports and final punch list.
  • May trouble-shoot design problems in the field during construction.
  • Travel required.
  • Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or certification of completion of other post-secondary training in engineering field preferred.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of electrical designer experience.
  • Experience with power system design and familiarity with lighting software.
  • Advanced experience with Revit software is required
  • Experience within the industrial facilities space and ability to execute related designs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage junior level staff and delegate work to design team.
  • Ability to communicate with clients directly and facilitate a professional relationship.
  • Ability to work with remote office team members, across various company office locations and client personnel.
