Job Overview
We are seeking a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist to provide on-site psychiatric services to adult patients at a correctional reception facility. This role focuses on behavioral health treatment using nationally recognized standards, collaboration with medical staff, and comprehensive documentation in an electronic health record system.
This assignment may lead to a permanent position for the right candidate. Core working hours are flexible based on facility needs, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. The psychiatrist will typically meet with 12–16 patients per 8-hour shift. Both a video interview and an on-site meeting/tour are required for consideration.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to administer treatment for behavioral health patients.
• Conduct patient exams, write evaluations, and generate reports.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Manage and monitor patient medications.
• Make referrals for specialized care or treatment.
• Perform duties in accordance with professional scope of practice and correctional facility policies.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including peer reviews.
• Engage in collaborative agreements as needed.
Required Qualifications
• Active Ohio Medical License.
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry.
• Healthcare professional-level BLS/CPR certification.
• DEA certification (as applicable).
• Experience in behavioral health, forensic psychiatry, or correctional healthcare preferred.
