Job description

Serves as an unclassified employee pursuant to Section 124.11 (A) (9) O.R.C. and performs the following duties:

Manages and coordinates school improvement funding and processes, including but not limited to: 
    Supports schools and districts in developing and maintaining budgets for federal and state grants aligned with district improvement plans;
    Manages district and school budgets related to school improvement funds within the One Funding Application. 
    Provides regular and relevant technical assistance and support to districts and schools via email, phone calls, and meetings (virtual and in-person);
    Coordinates the required expectations of the grant with the competitive grant developers;
    Evaluates implementation efforts of programs and recommends improvements:
o    Establishes data collection and reporting process for the grant awardees;
o    Analyzes data to provide improvement recommendations to internal and external entities;
    Develops and implements policy related to school improvement grant funding;
    Conducts trainings for district and school-based personnel related to policies, procedures, best practices, curriculum and data reporting;
    Facilitates peer-to-peer network collaborative learning opportunities for school improvement grant recipients;
    Collaborates with DEW offices engaged in collaborative monitoring (plan implementation and grant spending) process including, Federal Programs, Integrated Student Support, and Community Schools.
    Unusual Working Conditions: Requires travel throughout State of Ohio and may require overnight stay. (Must be willing and able to secure a valid Driver's License OR supply your own transportation.)
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree (e.g., business administration, public administration, political science, education or related field); and 3 years of experience performing any combination of the following:

  • Managing contracts or grants in an educational setting
  • Facilitating or managing work groups across multiple department levels
  • Project management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree (e.g., business administration, public administration, political science, education or related field)
  • Project Management certification
