Job description

THIS IS A FIELD-BASED, DOOR-TO-DOOR POSITION. THIS IS NOT AN OFFICE OR CALL-CENTER JOB.

Looking for something different than the typical entry-level job?

We are building a high-performance field marketing team in Columbus and looking for competitive, ambitious people who want to learn sales, develop confidence, make money based on performance, and surround themselves with people who are serious about getting better.

No roofing experience is required.

No door-to-door experience is required.

No degree is required.

Sales experience is preferred, but attitude, work ethic and coachability matter significantly more to us than your résumé.

If you’re hungry, competitive and willing to get uncomfortable, we’ll teach you the rest.

WHAT IS AN APPOINTMENT SETTER / ROUTE MANAGER?

You will work in residential neighborhoods speaking directly with homeowners and generating opportunities for our roofing sales team.

Your responsibility is NOT to sell a roof.

You are NOT negotiating contracts.

You are NOT collecting payment.

You are NOT expected to be a roofing expert.

Your job is to start the conversation.

You’ll knock doors, speak with homeowners, gather basic information, identify potential opportunities and schedule homeowners for a complimentary roof inspection with our team.

Our experienced roofing professionals take it from there.

Your performance is primarily measured by the quality and quantity of opportunities you create.

THIS IS NOT A DESK JOB

We want to make this extremely clear before you apply.

You will be outside.

You will walk.

You will knock doors.

You will talk to strangers.

You will hear “no.”

Probably a lot.

And you’ll learn that “no” doesn’t actually hurt.

The people who become successful in this business learn how to stay positive, control their attitude, improve their communication and keep moving regardless of what happened at the previous door.

If you’re looking for an office position, this isn’t it.

If sitting behind a desk for eight hours sounds miserable to you, keep reading.

WHAT WE’RE BUILDING

We don’t want this to feel like another job where everyone shows up, watches the clock and goes home.

We’re building a team.

We train together.

We compete together.

We set goals together.

We work in the field together.

We celebrate wins together.

There are competitions, team activities, incentives, recognition, leadership opportunities and a culture built around personal development.

We want people who genuinely enjoy getting better.

Better communicator.

Better teammate.

More disciplined.

More confident.

More accountable.

More financially successful.

The money matters.

But if money is the ONLY thing you care about, you’re probably going to miss the best part of this opportunity.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Door-to-door has developed some incredibly successful salespeople, entrepreneurs and business leaders because it forces you to develop skills most people spend their entire lives avoiding.

You’ll learn:

• How to confidently approach anyone

• How to communicate with different personalities

• How to build rapport quickly

• How to handle rejection

• How to overcome objections

• How to control your tonality and body language

• How to set and track goals

• How to hold yourself accountable

• How to perform when nobody is forcing you to

• How to generate business from nothing

• How to lead other people

These are skills you can take with you for the rest of your career.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

Experience isn’t necessary because we train heavily.

Our team meets Monday through Saturday for coaching, role-play, goal setting, accountability and field preparation.

You’ll receive hands-on training in:

• Door-to-door communication

• Appointment setting

• Objection handling

• Roofing fundamentals

• Homeowner qualification

• Territory management

• Personal development

• Goal setting

• Leadership

Then we take what we learned and apply it in the field.

This is not a “watch three training videos and good luck” environment.

You’ll be coached.

You’ll role-play.

You’ll get feedback.

You’ll be expected to improve.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We care significantly more about who you are than what’s on your resume.

You may be a great fit if you’re:

• Competitive

• Energetic

• Coachable

• Confident or interested in developing confidence

• Comfortable working outside

• Physically capable of walking for extended periods

• Comfortable talking to strangers

• Motivated by performance

• Interested in sales, business or entrepreneurship

• Interested in personal development

• Able to handle rejection without taking it personally

• Honest and trustworthy

• Someone who takes accountability instead of making excuses

Former athletes and people from competitive environments often enjoy this role, but no specific background is required.

COMPENSATION

This is a performance-based 1099 independent contractor opportunity with weekly compensation.

Your earning potential is directly connected to the qualified opportunities you generate and the results of those opportunities.

There is no traditional hourly ceiling.

Full compensation details, performance incentives and earning examples will be explained during the interview so you understand exactly how the opportunity works before deciding whether it’s right for you.

GROWTH OPPORTUNITY

This doesn’t have to remain an entry-level appointment-setting position.

We’re actively looking for future leaders.

Top performers who demonstrate consistent production, strong lead quality, accountability and the ability to develop others can earn opportunities to advance into leadership.

That means learning how to:

• Train new team members

• Run meetings

• Lead field groups

• Recruit

• Develop people

• Manage territory

• Build a team

We care about performance, not seniority.

If you’re great at what you do and demonstrate that you can lead, we want to give you more responsibility.

BEFORE YOU APPLY

This opportunity is probably NOT for you if:

You want an office job.

You don’t want to work outside.

You aren’t comfortable approaching homeowners.

You expect high income simply for showing up.

You struggle with accountability.

You hate coaching or feedback.

You give up easily when something gets uncomfortable.

There are plenty of easier jobs.

This isn’t supposed to be one of them.

BUT IF YOU’RE THINKING…

“I don’t have experience, but I know I can work.”

“I want to learn sales.”

“I want to become more confident.”

“I want to be surrounded by competitive people.”

“I’d rather bet on my performance than wait years for someone to give me a raise.”

“I want to see what I’m capable of.”

We should probably talk.
