Job Title: Senior .NET Developer
Contract Duration: 9 months, possible extension
Location: Columbus, OH
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Pay Rate: $59 - $63/hr
Summary
The selected consultant will work closely with the designated IT Supervisor, Project Managers, and other developers in an Agile development environment. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, application design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and technical support.
This position will support the development of new applications and modernization of legacy systems using Microsoft .NET technologies. The consultant will collaborate with ODPS staff to design and implement scalable, secure, N-tier applications that comply with organizational coding standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze, design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-level applications.
  • Rewrite and modernize legacy applications using .NET technologies.
  • Develop solutions utilizing C#, ASP.NET MVC/Core, Web API, Windows Forms, SQL Server, SSRS, and SSIS.
  • Design and implement N-tier application architectures.
  • Perform application maintenance, enhancements, and production support.
  • Develop and optimize SQL Server databases, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and query performance.
  • Create and maintain reports using SSRS and SSIS.
  • Participate in Agile development processes using Azure DevOps/TFS.
  • Collaborate with business users, project managers, architects, and technical teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership when needed.
  • Present technical concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Follow established coding standards, best practices, and deployment procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent technical experience considered. Advanced study preferred.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and application integration.
  • Experience mentoring developers and leading technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required Technical Skills
  • ASP.NET MVC development with ADO.NET 10+ years
  • C# and ASP.NET development 10+ years
  • SQL Server database design and development 10+ years
  • .NET Framework 4.0 or higher 10+ years
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and WCF 10+ years
  • N-tier application architecture and deployment 10+ years
  • TFS source control, code promotion, and recovery strategies 10+ years
  • Entity Framework (EF) 4.0 or later 5+ years
  • SSRS and SSIS development and integration within MVC applications 5+ years
  • Agile development using TFS/Azure DevOps 5+ years
  • Visual Studio development, including Visual Studio 2019 5+ years
  • Azure DevOps, Git, Boards, and CI/CD pipelines 5+ years
  • REST API development and integration 2+ years

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing AJAX-enabled controls within ASP.NET web applications (5+ years).
  • Experience integrating diverse technical environments and cross-platform technologies.
  • Ability to recommend best practices and drive technical improvements.
  • Experience working within large government or enterprise environments.
