Effective communication with suppliers, transportation teams, and on-site crews is crucial to address these issues. Leveraging digital tools for project management and maintaining flexibility in scheduling can help streamline operations and minimize delays. Additionally, continuous learning about evolving building codes and modular design standards is important for long-term success in the role.

What is modular construction?

Modular construction is a building process where structures are constructed off-site in factory-controlled settings, using the same materials and standards as traditional construction. The building is produced in modules, which are then transported to the final location and assembled into a finished structure. This method can significantly reduce construction time, improve quality control, and minimize waste. Modular construction is commonly used for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings. It is gaining popularity due to its efficiency and adaptability.

At Connect Housing Blocks, we are redefining how housing is built.
Our modular construction process combines the craftsmanship of traditional trades with the efficiency of modern production - allowing us to deliver high-quality housing faster and smarter. Our team works in a state-of-the-art production facility where innovative processes and hands-on work come together to transform the future of building.
If you're a builder at heart, a hands-on leader, and excited by the opportunity to directly shape a growing workforce, we'd love to meet you.
Overview:
We're looking for Production Leaders who can lead from the floor. You'll oversee day-to-day production operations, manage schedules, coach your team, and ensure our products meet quality standards - all while being actively involved in the work itself. This isn't a desk job; it's for people who love building, problem-solving, and getting things done.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead the production process and workflow for your team, working side by side with them to get things built.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate workload to ensure materials are ready and projects are completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings, assign tasks, and ensure activities are safe, clear, and measurable.
  • Supervise schedules, review timecards, and manage attendance and performance issues in coordination with HR.
  • Train and mentor team members, including safe and effective use of equipment and PPE.
  • Ensure equipment and tools are maintained and repaired to avoid downtime.
  • Track production progress and report updates to leadership.
  • Manage product quality, track defects, and coordinate repairs or adjustments with other production teams.
  • Enforce safety policies, quality standards, and company culture on the floor.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in construction, manufacturing, or production - including supervising teams while performing the work yourself.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and implement solutions quickly.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but hands-on experience is highly valued.

Competencies:
  • Hands-On Leadership: Lead by example and get involved in production when needed.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain high standards and ensure quality work.
  • Time Management: Keep projects on schedule and organize resources efficiently.
  • Team Development: Coach, mentor, and grow your team.
  • Professionalism: Maintain composure under pressure while driving results.

This role offers the chance to own your production area, work hands-on, and help build a team in a growing company transforming how housing is built.
