Job description

Ohio Foot and Ankle Specialists is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Billing Specialist to support accurate and timely medical billing operations. This role is responsible for claim submission, payment posting, follow-up, and ensuring compliance with payer requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

In- Person

Submit medical claims accurately and timely to insurance carriers

Review claims for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to submission

Post insurance payments, adjustments, and denials

Follow up on unpaid, underpaid, or denied claims

Research and resolve billing discrepancies

Work denied claims and submitted corrected or appealed claims as needed

Verify insurance benefits and billing requirements when necessary

Maintain compliance with billing regulations, payer guidelines, and company policies

Communicate professionally with insurance companies, internal teams, and leadership

Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Perform other duties as assigned

QualificationsMedical billing experience preferred

Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and insurance billing processes preferred

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Basic computer proficiency and experience with EMR/practice management systems

Reliable attendance and professionalism
