The Senior Engineering Manager of Infrastructure leads engineering teams that design, build, and operate reliable, scalable technology platforms critical to Central’s operations; while continuously evolving how those platforms are delivered. This role translates enterprise infrastructure strategy into actionable, productoriented engineering roadmaps, balancing operational stability with modernization through automation, InfrastructureasCode, and platform engineering practices. Working closely with directors, peer engineering leaders, security, and business partners, the Senior Manager ensures infrastructure services meet today’s demands while positioning the organization for future growth, including AIenabled workloads. As a people leader, this role is accountable for team performance, capacity planning, vendor engagement, and the continuous development of both technical and leadership capabilities. Success is measured through clear service level expectations, operational KPIs, and reliability outcomes; fostering strong crossfunctional collaboration and delivering resilient, highquality infrastructure services that reduce friction and enable the broader business mission.

 

 Key Responsibilities of the Role  

  • Engages with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives 
  • Assists in creation of technology strategy and engineering roadmaps by partnering with other engineering managers, directors, and stakeholders on one or more teams.
  • Communicates multi-year functional strategy. Sets expectations for team and holds them accountable for results.
  • Direct strategies around technology equipment/software negotiation, procurement, and inventory management. Manage assigned vendor relationships and assist with budget and contracts where applicable. Provide input on refresh strategies to leadership.
  • Accountable for continuous improvement of team through mentorship, deepened technical aptitude, and professional development
  • Organizes and unblocks collaboration and partnership at multiple levels, across business groups and functions to achieve the organizational mission
  • Responsible for managing team workloads through capacity planning, process improvement, and staffing.
  • Evaluates performance of team members following Central’s performance management process. holds employees to organizational standards.
  • Audit team performance through the development of SLAs and KPIs. Report against them on a regular basis as required
  • Design incident management reactions and responses. Execute response when necessary.
  • Ensures all hardware and software within assigned areas of responsibility are appropriately upgraded, supported, and in compliance with licensing
  • Ensures that all backup and recovery mechanisms are in place within assigned areas of responsibility to meet Disaster Recovery program requirements.
  • Works directly with IT Security & Compliance to ensure that all systems within assigned areas of responsibility to ensure that all audit findings are remediated according to established priorities
  • Works closely with stakeholders to ensure hardware and/or software delivery requirements are clearly defined and met; pursues continual improvement through effective communication
  • Identifies possible improvements whether it be technical, process or influencing the execution of teams
  • Ensures that standards, documentation, and tools needed for effective execution of the team’s responsibilities are in place and being used appropriately; identifies gaps and makes recommendations on improvements
  • Evaluates technologies and techniques that enable product differentiation over multiple years; works across teams to implement such technologies to drive continuous improvement

Required Qualifications  

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science and 4 years of related experience including 1 year management experience
  • Or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 6 years related experience including 1 year management experience
  • Or 8 years related experience including 1 year of management experience


Preferred Qualifications  

  • Prior experience supervising others, including performance evaluation
  • Work schedule flexibility to support off-hour work as needed
