Job description

TITLE:                 Registrar
JOB STATUS:     FLSA Overtime Eligible
REPORTS TO:    Building Administrator
DEPARTMENT:   Academics and Student Learning
PAY RANGE:      Seven (7)




POSITION SUMMARY:  To efficiently and expeditiously manage and maintain records of current high school students, including credits, grade data and transcripts.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:



  • A high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent.
  • A good knowledge of typing, filing, and data processing entry.
  • To be self motivated with an attention to detail.
  • A courteous and pleasing personality.
  • A customer service attitude with an ability to handle people in difficult situations.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Sends for and follows up on all requests for new student information/records.  Prepares and sends records to other schools for students who have withdrawn.
  • Prepares cumulative folder and health folder for all new students, and inputs the students' information into the computer.
  • Notifies new student's teachers of grades in comparable subjects from student's previous school.
  • Maintains complete and accurate/up to date credit and grade data on permanent folders and in the computer system data base.  Includes:  a) putting end of year grade stickers on folders and making corrections as needed; b) recording transfer grades and credits; c) recording all summer school and tutoring grades;  d) recording all college board exam scores; e) filing in permanent folders as needed; f) making up transcript cards for every student and putting stickers on cards (as on folders).
  • Prepares student transcripts for college applications and sends out final transcripts to colleges.
  • Aids Tolles Technical Center with permanent folder and transcript information on registering and withdrawing students.
  • Processes student withdrawal procedures.  Hands out forms to students, collects forms at end of day, copies and sends forms with the withdrawing student.
  • Serves as data entry person on all functions related to scheduling and grades.
  • During the summer, accomplishes those general secretarial tasks assigned by the building principal or his/her designee.
  • Ensures the safety of students.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships.
  • Remains free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district.
  • Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment.
  • Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, and intelligent human beings.
  • Understands the legal responsibility to help instill in students the belief in, and practice of, ethical principles and democratic values.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  261 Days  (251 Days; 10 paid holidays); 8 hours per dayexcluding lunch.  Salary as provided by negotiated agreement. 
Work year to be established by the Board.
SALARY:  $30.54/HR. - $32.13/HR.
