Job Summary
Responsible for managing the construction, operation and maintenance of transmission lines, facilities and associated equipment. Responsible for the field activities to ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards. Also responsible to direct efforts during outages to return facilities to service. Major enabling competencies: flexibility, communication, creativity and teamwork.
Job Description
What you'll do:
  • Manage and oversee the assignment of all line crew work and allocate personnel and equipment to obtain best efficiency in performance.
  • Lead Transmission restoration efforts during major outages. Plays critical role in the ICS restoration process related to Transmission's response in coordination with the Distribution organization.
  • Work collaboratively with and provide input to the Technical Services support group for the development of an annual maintenance plan.
  • Manage and oversee the inspection and/or the construction of line facilities and responsible for the data input into the applicable database(s).
  • Direct and assist in the development of maintenance practices on transmission lines and/or the construction of new facilities.
  • Evaluate and recommend for purchase/lease equipment required to perform maintenance and/or construction work.
  • Interact with other groups in transmission, distribution, plants, customers and the public regarding the operation, maintenance and construction of transmission lines.
  • Advise, assist and consult with the Transmission Work Planning Manager on matters related to transmission line facilities.
  • Promote and enforce safety rules and practices. Recommend and enables training for assigned employees.

What we're looking for:
Transmission Line Manager SG10
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university or college and a minimum of 8 years' of transmission field services, construction management or engineering work experience
  • OR Two year technical degree in construction/industrial trades or project management and 10 years' of related experience in construction, operation and maintenance of transmission lines.
  • OR high school graduate or equivalent education and 15 years' related experience in construction, operation and maintenance of transmission lines.

Required License(s)/Certification(s):
  • Valid driver's license.

In addition:
  • Physical demand level is Sedentary
  • Travel required.
  • These are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license / certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc.
