Job Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring all finished products are completed according to quality standards and customer specifications. Quality Controllers work closely with engineering to ensure products are completed with all buy-out items and components. Quality Controllers must have strong communication skills to communicate product issues to manufacturing and engineering in a timely manner. Quality Controllers are required to document correction requests, maintain daily product logs, and mark products with ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories) labels. Quality Controllers are assigned to the manufacturing plant but may also work with other departments, such as engineering, purchasing, and account services. Quality Controllers may perform other tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect finished products for defects
  • Complete standard testing and evaluation processes
  • Approve finished products for shipment
  • Document correction requests and maintain daily product logs
  • Communicate product issues in a timely manner
  • Work with build documents and basic drawings

Experience and Education:

  • High School or GED
  • 6 - 12 months related experience and/or training

Position Requirements:

  • Knowledge of proper quality control procedures
  • Mechanically inclined; ability to work with shop machinery and basic hand tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch
  • Ability to add and subtract fractions
  • Communicates well with others; asks for and offers help when needed
  • Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work
  • Capable of working independently and as a member of a team; contributes to building a positive team spirit
  • Observes and follows safety procedures
