Job description

Abbruzzese Brothers Inc. provides commercial landscape maintenance for HOAs, new developments and property managers. We prioritize reliable equipment, safety, and fast turnarounds to keep large routes running on schedule.
We’re hiring a hands-on Shop Mechanic to service, repair, and maintain landscape equipment and medium-duty fleet vehicles. This role focuses on troubleshooting small engines, power equipment, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime for crews.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial lawn mowers, zero-turns, tractors, blowers, chainsaws, string trimmers, small engines, and medium-duty trucks/vans.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance: oil changes, tune-ups, blade sharpening, belts, filters, and safety inspections.
  • Troubleshoot engine, fuel, ignition, electrical, and hydraulic issues; use meters and basic diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain shop tools and equipment; keep a clean, organized work area.
  • Order and stock commonly used parts; communicate parts needs to supervisor.
  • Complete accurate service logs, repair orders, and parts tracking in company systems.
  • Assist with roadside repairs and equipment swaps as needed to support field crews.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years’ mechanical experience; small-engine and commercial landscape equipment experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools; comfortable using diagnostic meters and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for work orders and parts look-up.
  • Valid driver’s license; clean driving record preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Welding/fabrication, ASE, or small-engine certifications a plus.

What We Offer:
  • Competitive pay and opportunities for skill-based increases.
  • Training, PPE, and tools provided.
  • Stable, year-round work supporting commercial routes and a supportive team environment.
  • Potential eligibility for medical, dental, and benefits, and vacation time.
