JOB SUMMARY
  • Responsible for developing the curriculum and implementing/coordinating all instruction related to lactation services conducted by Knox Community Hospital .
  • Communicates with the medical community concerning lactation issues.
  • Works in cooperation with community organizations to promote the optimal use of the hospital's resources to meet the needs of lactating mothers and their newborns.
  • Contributes to the quality of delivered patient care through communications both directly and indirectly with healthcare team.
  • Care will be provided to neonatal, adolescent and adult patients

Requirements Include
    • Graduate of an accredited program for nursing education, BSN preferred
    • Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio
    • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required
    • Minimum two (2) years experience in the field of Obstetrics
    • Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultants Examiners or certification eligible and pass boards within one year from date of hire
    • S.T.A.B.L.E. is required or must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
