Job description

Title: Production-Trim/Packers
Salary Range: $17.06 - $17.51

Status: Non-Exempt
Days/Shifts: 1st and 2nd Shift
Location: Springfield, OH
Reports to: Supervisor, Production

GENERAL DISCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
We are hiring Production Workers for 1st and 2nd shift to support our operations. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for producing high-quality products in a safe and fast-paced environment. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
  • Must be able to stand for long period of time trimming head of lettuce, loading the line, watching for foreign objects in the salad, maintaining the floors swept and clear of debris, adding color and operating the Bin Dumper.
  • Must be flexible to work in assigned area of the day.
  • Must have general understanding of plant operations and various departments.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess initiative.
  • Must be able to learn new assignments.
  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of management.
  • Employee must adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP's related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)
  • Ensure the integrity and continued operation of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Pack the correct number of bags per box.
  • Check for correct bag codes and expiration dates.
  • Check for bag's defects (wrinkle, product in the seal, open bag, under/overweight etc.)
  • Check for any foreign objects, Missing/Broken Masterpacks.
  • Other tasks within the packaging room include rework bags of salads and stacking boxes of salads on skids.
  • Must have the ability to be present at work on time, follow directions and interact well with co-workers
  • Employees must adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP's related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
  • Should be able to read and work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work in cold temperatures (32-35 degrees)
  • Willing to follow PPE protocol (hairnet, hardhat, gloves, smock/ safety vest)
  • jewelry (earrings, necklaces, rings, watches) are not permitted on production floors
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb and work in confined or awkward spaces for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, to work in a cold environment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds. Able to work in a cold environment (35* on Plant floor).
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4-day / 10-hour work schedule
  • Saturdays may be scheduled as a 12-hour shift based on production needs
Shift Details
1st Shift- $17.06/hour
  • Trim: 5:45 AM - 3:45 PM
    • Mondays have an early start time of 5:00 AM
  • Packaging: 5:20 AM - 4:30 PM
    • Mondays have an early start time of 5:35 AM
2nd Shift- $17.51/hour
  • Trim: 3:30 PM - until production is finished
  • Packaging: 4:15 PM - until production is finished

  • High School Diploma required.
