Job description

The Data Lead owns the program’s data collection and management process, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and readily available for reporting and customer needs. The role is focused on reducing the administrative burden associated with data entry and reporting so program staff can spend more time delivering value to clients.

This position will support the transition to a customer-managed CRM, improve data workflows, build automation where appropriate, create data visualizations and dashboards to assist with decision making, and help ensure the program can respond quickly and confidently to government customer data requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the program’s data collection, management, and quality-control processes.
  • Ensure engagement, service delivery, and impact data are entered accurately and on time.
  • Support the Program Manager with recurring and ad hoc reporting by maintaining reliable, report-ready data.
  • Serve as a program resource for the customer-managed CRM and coordinate with the prime contractor and peer data/reporting roles.
  • Build tools, dashboards, and automations that reduce manual data entry, cleanup, and reporting effort.
  • Train staff and interns on data-entry processes, dashboards, and applicable reporting tools.
  • Maintain appropriate handling of proprietary and potentially CUI data.
Data Management & Quality — 35%
  • Manage ongoing data collection, entry, cleanup, validation, and QA/QC.
  • Ensure the team follows current customer-provided data definitions and requirements.
  • Identify and resolve gaps, inconsistencies, and data-quality issues.
Reporting & Customer Data Support — 25%
  • Provide validated data for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and other program reporting.
  • Respond to quick-turn data requests and required updates from the customer.
  • Develop summary views and visuals for program and leadership use.
Process Improvement & Automation — 25%
  • Build and maintain automations that reduce manual data entry, reconciliation, and reporting effort.
  • Improve workflows across Salesforce, SharePoint, Pryzm, Excel, Power BI, and related systems.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify how team members capture information following client engagements.
Systems, Training & Coordination — 15%
  • Develop working expertise in the customer-managed CRM environment and raise concerns or improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the customer and other program data leads.
  • Train staff and interns on data processes, dashboards, and market-report generation.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience working with program, operational, CRM, or reporting data.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience managing and cleaning structured data.
  • Ability to build basic workflow automations or demonstrated aptitude with automation tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to perform data QA/QC.
  • Ability to communicate data requirements clearly and work with staff across different functions.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential or sensitive information.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Pryzm, or another CRM/data-management platform.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with performance measurement, KPIs, and outcome reporting.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience supporting government-funded programs or government customers.
  • Familiarity with CUI or other controlled-data environments.
  • Experience developing dashboards and management-level data visualizations.
  • Experience training others on data systems and processes.
