Job description

Position Summary:
The Sr Transportation Analyst on the Global Transportation team with VS&Co supports one of the highest volume retail transportation networks in North America. The Global transportation team is responsible for managing global shipments to and from our US distribution centers. The Sr Analyst will help to generate and leverage tools to best meet business needs while also leading, developing, and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners and carriers.
As a Sr Transportation Analyst you will:
  • Exclusively responsible for all shipments and transportation flows for a portion of the network
  • Generate and leverage tools to design network and to best meets our business goals
  • Through data analytics and reporting, influence decision making and network planning
  • Through research, identify root causes for ongoing challenges and drive for change / action to eliminate and mitigate going forward
  • Support more junior members as they monitor daily reporting in investigating any identified issues or opportunities for improvement
  • Gain and utilize strong working knowledge of all transportation modes within the organization and impacts to global networks
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on behalf of the global transportation group
  • Proactive risk and disruption management
  • Lead regular communication with domestic and international partners to ensure business direction and needs are met
  • Respond quickly to change with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new ways to work and achieve objectives
  • Lead small scope projects from start to completion (Carrier onboarding, new reporting development, etc.)
  • Responsible for accessing all transport services in the market and reporting new offerings and potential improvements to department manager
  • Lead discussions with department leaders around upcoming volume / capacity needs
  • Provides weekly and monthly reports to management detailing provider delivery performance, corporate volume and sourcing trends, and special projects as needed
  • Support in the mentorship and onboarding of junior members on the team

Your experience:
  • 4+ years of experience working in a related position
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related discipline
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical abilities, and high proficiency using Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with time definite projects and reporting
  • Self-motivated; proven ability to make independent decisions and suggest process improvement
  • Minimal travel may be required
