What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Review inpatient hospital claims to ensure proper reimbursement and handle provider disputes
  • Assign appropriate procedural terminology and medical codes to patient records
  • Analyze, enter, and manipulate databases for accurate claims payment and diagnosis-related group assignments
  • Respond to internal requests for medical information and clarify discrepancies
  • Make independent decisions regarding work methods while adhering to established guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • RHIA, RHIT, or CCS Certification, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in one of these qualifications
  • MS-DRG coding/auditing experience
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting claims
  • Experience in performing inpatient coding reviews/audits in health insurance and/or hospital settings
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience in APR DRG coding/auditing
  • Background in Financial Recovery
  • Familiarity with a fast-paced, metrics-driven operational setting
