Hybrid onsite in Columbus, Ohio

Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Windows, Active Directory, AIX/Linux & Citrix)

Our Columbus, Ohio client is expanding its Infrastructure Engineering team and has multiple contract-to-hire opportunities for experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineers specializing in Windows, Active Directory, AIX & Linux, and Citrix. These senior-level engineers will own the architecture, administration, automation, security, performance, and modernization of enterprise infrastructure platforms across on-premises, hybrid cloud, and virtualized environments.

Successful candidates will serve as technical leaders responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure while driving automation, standardization, reliability, and continuous improvement. Engineers will partner closely with Security, Networking, Application Development, Data, and Cloud teams to ensure highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure services.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Windows

  • Windows Server administration, patching, OS lifecycle management, virtualization, PowerShell automation, storage, backup/recovery, Active Directory integration, VMware, Azure/AWS, security hardening, disaster recovery, and enterprise modernization.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Active Directory

  • Enterprise Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, PKI, hybrid identity, Zero Trust architecture, privileged access, authentication, replication, identity governance, and disaster recovery.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer – AIX & Linux

  • IBM Power Systems, AIX (LPARs, VIOS, NIM), enterprise Linux (RHEL, SLES, Ubuntu), VMware, enterprise storage, clustering (PowerHA/Pacemaker), automation using Ansible, Terraform, Bash and Python, hybrid cloud, security hardening, performance tuning, and platform modernization.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Citrix

Common Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, administer, and optimize enterprise infrastructure platforms.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization and hybrid cloud initiatives.
  • Automate deployments and operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Maintain security, compliance, patching, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery.
  • Monitor performance, capacity, availability, and operational health using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Provide Tier 3/4 production support, root cause analysis, and technical leadership.
  • Develop architecture documentation, runbooks, SOPs, dashboards, and operational standards.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate across Infrastructure, Security, Networking, Cloud, Data, and Application Development teams.
  • Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to accelerate automation, log analysis, documentation, and incident response while maintaining engineering oversight and governance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7–10+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience within one or more of the listed specialties.
  • Strong experience with VMware virtualization, enterprise storage, automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform), and hybrid cloud technologies (Azure and/or AWS).
  • Expertise in security best practices, disaster recovery, infrastructure modernization, and enterprise operations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills.
