Job description

The Ohioan Hotel and Event Center (formally known as Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center) located in Lewis Center, Ohio is searching for a Full-Time Kitchen Receiving Agent to join our team! We are offering a $500 sign on bonus!

Job Summary:

This position receives all food inventory for the culinary department.

Essential Functions:

  1. Sweeping and mopping coolers daily.
  2. Checks in all items and stores invoices to be signed by Chef to be taken to Accounting each day.
  3. Sweep Dry Storage.
  4. Keep levels stocked up on flour, rice and sugar bins.
  5. Receive all deliveries, check in to ensure proper products where ordered.
  6. Weigh at least two protein items to ensure proper case weight.
  7. Takes receiving temperatures on protein products.
  8. Receive grocery order, and place in proper locations on shelf.
  9. Label and date all items.
  10. Helps chefs with inventory procedures to ensure proper inventory is taken, monthly.
  11. Helps when needed, in kitchen.
  12. Responsible for a clean van and gassed for next day.
  13. Make sure all break out areas are stocked with proper item.
  14. May include leaving the property to fulfill a certain request.
  15. Long hours sometimes required.
  16. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  17. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  18. Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  19. Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests.
  20. Set up Employee Meal to Property Standards.
  21. Prepares nourishment items for employee meal.
  22. Performs and maintains Cafe cleaning responsibilities.

    Physical Requirements:

    These physical demands represent the physical requirements necessary for an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of the position.

    1. Medium work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and /or 80 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
    2. Ability to stand for long hours at a time.

    Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

    1. High School Diploma.
    2. Some leadership ability’s required.
    3. ServSafe Certified.
