About Company:

AFS Group, one of the nation's largest flooring companies, is seeking to expand our team. Since 2000, the Columbus-based AFS Group has become one of the nation’s largest flooring and window treatment companies, providing quality home decor products and professional installation services to homeowners, homebuilders, property managers, wholesalers, and business owners throughout the Midwest.

About the Role:

As a Designer, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing and creating innovative interior and spatial designs that meet client needs and enhance user experiences. You will be responsible for effectively communicate design concepts from inception through to final execution. Collaborating closely with clients, architects, and contractors, you will ensure that designs are both aesthetically pleasing and functionally practical, adhering to project specifications and budgets. Your expertise will contribute to the development of creative solutions that balance form, function, and sustainability within diverse environments. Ultimately, your work will transform spaces into inspiring, efficient, and visually compelling environments that align with the client’s vision and industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • ⁠2+ years of experience in residential design
  • Knowledge of measuring and estimating
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in home decor products, concept design, and layout development.
  • Experience in design development and project collaboration within a professional setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in Interior Design or related professional accreditation.
  • Experience with sustainable design practices and knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Background in project management or client-facing roles within design projects.
  • ⁠Experience in sales or customer service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • First-rate verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive interior design plans including layout, materials, and finishes using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and contractors to refine designs and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • ⁠Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Stay current with design trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.

Skills:

As a Designer, you will use your design skills to create and present solutions that meet the needs of our clients. You will also use your communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and work closely with our sales team. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously will be essential in ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service and design solutions.
