What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health Application Development & Maintenance programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. The Director, Application Development & Maintenance - HR Technology & Corporate Applications provides strategic and operational leadership for enterprise HR and corporate application platforms that support the full employee lifecycle and core corporate services. This leader is accountable for platform reliability, modernization, automation, and regulatory compliance.

Leading through influence and the ability to navigate a highly matrixed enterprise is key to the success of this role. This Director will regularly partner with peers across Risk, Architecture and business functional leaders to deliver scalable, secure, and high impact solutions across the enterprise. This role influences AI strategy and leads the implementation of AI agents and intelligent automation use cases across Workday, ServiceNow, and other HR Technologies to improve employee experience, productivity, and business outcomes.

Location - Ideally targeting individuals local to Central Ohio who are willing/able to operate in a hybrid work model (2-3 days per week in-office at our corporate HQ in Dublin, OH) Responsibilities Partner with Global HR Services, HR Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management), Enterprise Architecture, AI Center of Excellence, Risk, Security, Vendor Management Office, Data & Analytics, and Corporate (Facilities, Security, Environmental Health & Safety) leadership to operationalize business strategy and regulatory requirements through enterprise technology solutions Lead development, enhancement, and run operations (including availability, performance, data integrity, incident response, and executivelevel communications) for systems supporting hiretoretire, talent, learning, workforce data, employee services, and corporate workflows while ensuring platforms and processes meet audit, privacy, security, SOX, and regulatory requirements through strong governance, change management, and controls Lead and develop teams of people managers, solution owners, technical leaders, and managed services team members Provide ownership and strategic direction for enterprise HR and corporate application platforms, including Workday, ServiceNow, esignature platforms (Adobe Sign and DocuSign) and various automation and AIenabled solutions Drive adoption of automation and AIenabled solutions to reduce manual work, improve data quality, and increase operational efficiency, while aligning with enterprise AI governance and risk standards Lead delivery of AI innovation and agentic capabilities across Workday by prioritizing, piloting, and scaling Sana from Workday and adjacent AI solutions, partnering across product, architecture, security, risk, and business teams to ensure deployment, adoption, and sustained operational outcomes. Lead vendor strategy and governance across SaaS providers, managed services partners, and system integrators, including RFPs, contract negotiations, and performance management Own platform roadmaps and prioritization, balancing vendordelivered capabilities, configuration strategies, automation opportunities, and enterprise standards Financial accountability for application portfolios and projects, including labor, licensing, managed services, and ongoing run costs Manage and lead a team with critical HR technical solution development responsibilities during Mergers & Acquisition activities. Qualifications Ideally targeting individuals with 12+ years of progressive experience in enterprise application development, maintenance, and run operations Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing HR technology and corporate application platforms, a strong plus Demonstrated success leading a global geographically distributed team of full-time employees, contractors, and managed services partners, highly preferred Ability to lead strategic technology investment and roadmap discussions and implementation of new technical capabilities Targeting individuals with demonstrated enthusiasm for technology, AI and automation Ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively, a must Anticipated Salary Range $152,100 - $257,400 Bonus Eligible - Yes Benefits: Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.
