Grant Billing and Compliance CoordinatorFull Time Days | 40 hours per week Remote - Ohio Residents OnlyStarting salary at $60,000/year, based on experienceLutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Grant Billing and Compliance Coordinator based out of our home office in Columbus, Ohio. The ideal candidate will share Our Mission: Creating a better world by serving people in need.The Grant Billing and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for Reviewing grant agreements and budgets to understand required billing, reporting, and compliance activities and to ensure LSS and its subsidiaries comply with funder requirements. Analyzes grant activity to ensure revenues and related expenditures are properly recorded. Stewards the grant workflow and drives internal processing corrections and enhancements, as needed. Ensures allowable administrative costs are maximized in accordance with each grant contract. Coordinates routine and special finance projects and oversees the day-to-day operations of financial applications and related processes. Tracks compliance-related activities and ensures they are completed within funder deadlinesWhat will I do as a Grant Billing and Compliance Coordinator with Lutheran Social Services:Prepares and accurately records grant billings and monitors cash collections. Coordinates collection of aged receivables. Manages the monthly closing process to ensure timely production of grant financial reporting, including monthly preparation and review of balance sheet and statement of activitiesAnalyzes financial reports to ensure grant activity is properly recorded, with grant revenue and expenses reflected accurately. Ensures pertinent grant documents are captured in NetSuite and monitors agreement uploads into contract management systems.Provides leadership, training, and coaching to finance staff in the area of grants, as needed.Advocates for systems, policies, and procedures that continuously improve accuracy, timeliness, and documentation. Champions information systems and integrations that promote efficiency and support organizational growth.Assists with annual external financial, single, and grantor audits of Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio and related subsidiaries and maintains appropriate records and reconciliations to support amounts recorded in the financial records and grant billings.Fosters strong relationships with senior management and program directors to facilitate communication and improve the accuracy of financial operations and results. Proactively educates operating managers on the use of fiscal management tools, such as NetSuite, to improve performance and safeguard organizationalAssists the Director of Finance with the timely filing of reports with government agencies and follows the reporting and compliance standards of such agencies. Submits timely reports toAdheres to a high standard of customer service and is a key role model and mentor for staff.Keeps current on developments to ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and regulatory requirements and is applied consistently throughout the organization.Requirements for a Grant Billing and Compliance Coordinator with Lutheran Social Services:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant grant / fund accounting experience will be considered.Three to five years of experience in fund accounting, especially related to grants, and financial reporting.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
