Job description

Position Summary:
This position reports to a Regional Sales Manager (RSM). This role is responsible for managing and growing assigned customer accounts within a defined geographic region through direct selling of Gleason Corporation products and services. The Account Manager owns day-to-day account execution, customer relationships, and opportunity development while operating within established sales strategies and guidelines provided by the RSM.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for promotion, negotiation and sale of Cutting Tools and Workholding products within assigned accounts and region.
  • Support promotion and opportunity identification for the RSM for all other Gleason products within assigned accounts and region.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships through regular face-to-face customer visits and interactions
  • Travel to Customer locations throughout the region (50-70% of the time) with occasional travel to Gleason plants of manufacture. International travel may be required at times.
  • Regular communications with plant of manufacture to monitor Customer order progress and support proactive follow-up to ensure orders remain on track. Communicates and resolves issues on behalf of the Customer.
  • Detailed pre-sales and post-sales follow-up including reporting requirements (ERP, CRM, other)
  • Communication of customer needs and requirements (VOC)
  • Monitor and report on customer activity, competitive actions, and market conditions within assigned accounts
  • Support booking activities and strategy deployment objectives within the region and specified accounts.


Qualifications

  • Field sales experience in an industrial manufacturing industry and environment
  • Technical background and experience in gear manufacturing and automation techniques preferred.
  • Knowledge of cylindrical and bevel gear manufacturing preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP Systems
  • Associates or Technical Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business, Marketing, etc.)
  • Must have demonstrated business management experience and skills
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently within a team structure
  • Strong organizational, management, Presentation and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of commercial transactions in an industrial manufacturing company or tooling integrator
