About Us: The Ohio Casino Control Commission has the responsibility to ensure the integrity of casino gaming, sports gaming, skill-based amusement machines and fantasy contests by licensing, regulating, investigating and enforcing state laws.

What We Do: The Ohio Casino Control Commission is a bipartisan regulatory body made up of seven Commissioners , an Executive Director and supporting staff that provides oversight of the casino gaming industry in Ohio. To fulfill the mission and the responsibilities of the Commission, the Executive Director oversees eight divisions that provide critical functions to ensure the integrity of casino gaming: legislative & public affairs, enforcement, legal counsel, licensing, investigations, operations, regulatory compliance, and responsible gambling.

Job Description
  • Provides general legal advice to the Casino Control Commission
  • Drafts and facilitates implementation of new and amended administrative rules
  • Conducts legal research on a variety of complex legal issues, including preparing written opinions or memoranda
  • Reviews and responds to public record requests
  • Drafts and facilitates the implementation of new and amended policies and procedures
  • Prepares Notices of Opportunity for Hearing and Notices of Violation for licensing and regulatory compliance violations
  • Supports the Attorney Generals Office in administrative hearings, appeals, and general litigation
  • Responds to inquires from the public and other governmental authorities
  • Monitors legislation for agency or legal impact
  • Assists in labor relations matters, including the discipline and grievance process

Qualifications

Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 12 mos. exp. as licensed attorney; 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development. Job Skills: Attorney/Legal

Supplemental Information

Compensation Starting compensation for this position is $40.40 hourly/$84,032 annually with the opportunity to advance in pay after six months. This position is in Pay Range 14, please visit Pay Range Table for more information.
